Downloading Photographs from the Camera to the Computer (XP)

Dialogue box: choose Scanner and Camera Wizard.


Directions:
  1. Plug the camera into the computer using the USB cord. Turn the camera to ON. Wait until the computer recognizes the camera.
  2. A dialog box like the one to the right should pop up. Choose the Microsoft Scanner and camera wizard.
  3. Once scanner and camera wizard reads the camera, press next.
  4. A dialog box will show up showing the photos that are on the camera. Press “Clear All”. Select on the photos that you want to download by selecting the check mark in the right hand corner. Once all of your photos have been selected press next.
  5. This next dialog box is VERY IMPORTANT!!!! DO NOT JUST PRESS NEXT!!!! In the first space, type what you want your photos to be names, such as “Gorlewski pinch pots”. In the second space, press Browse next to the space. Select on your network account, the “F” drive. It should start with the numbers of your user login. Once you have selected it, press

    Make sure to name your photos appropriately and select the right location to save the photos.
    on “Make a New Folder”. Name your folder something like “yourlastname, ceramics”. Press next.
  6. You should see your photos being transferred into your folder on the computer. Once it is complete, press finish. Congrats! You have downloaded your photos successfully. See below for editing in Adobe Photoshop.





Uploading Photos to Adobe Photoshop

Directions:
  1. First you need to upload your photos into Adobe Photoshop. Double click on the Adobe Photoshop icon (a camera). In the

    Go to File, Get Photos, from Files and Folders to bring photos into Photoshop.

    first dialog box press
    “View and Organize”. Once Adobe Photoshop opens, you may see photos in the organizer that are not yours. Go to edit, select all and press delete on your keyboard. This will get rid of any unnecessary photos in your organizer.
  2. Go to File, Get Photos, From File or Folders.
  3. Click on the down arrow at the top of the dialog box (see below). Click on my computer. Click on your account. Click ONCE on your folder to highlight it. Select “get photos” on your far right.
  4. Your files should now be transferred into Adobe Photoshop. You are ready to edit!!!


Bringing Photos into the Editor to Edit

Click on the center Edit button, not the one next to File.

Directions:
  1. Highlight the photos you want to edit in your organizer.
  2. Click on the Edit button. Go to Full edit.
